Honeymoon planning.

groom and bride
Still working on this. Joker was supposed to have done this months ago, but... yeah, he didn't.

Trying to work on somewhat of a budget too ($3500 or less to cover airfare, rental car and hotels). We have a separate budget for meals, shopping, etc. Thank God.

We had already determined that we have to start in San Francisco, because the Giants will only be playing that weekend that we arrive (after Sunday, they are playing "away" from home). So Thursday thru Sunday will be in San Francisco. After getting assistance from my travel agent, our first choice for a hotel is the Sheraton on Fisherman's Wharf. Very pretty hotel.

On the Monday, we plan to check out of the hotel, and start the drive in the morning towards Sonoma to stay in wine country for a few days. Originally, we wanted to spend a couple of days in Sonoma and a couple of days in Napa, but the budget doesn't allow for that. So we are going w/ Sonoma this trip, and hope to make Napa a separate trip next year, perhaps as an anniversary thing.

The hotel we like in Sonoma is the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa. Very, very pretty hotel. And I want the Mission Suite ($429/night!) because I feel since it's a "honeymoon", we shouldn't totally skimp.

We'll stay in Sonoma until the 10th or 11th (haven't decided yet), and then head back to SFO, where we will catch a plane into Los Angeles. This is where we get to save some $, because we'd stay w/ my sister and her family at their house in West Hollywood.

It wasn't really part of our plan to include LA, but it makes the most sense money-wise. And Joker's never been there.

I hope to be able to book the flights by tomorrow morning, and then take care of booking the hotels shortly thereafter.

I really need a vacation...

How is it possible that he has never been to L.A. before? Wow!

I know... he doesn't have family there, nor does he have friends that live in that area (most of the people he knows live in northern CA). And of course, there are no "real" casinos there, so why bother?

I can't believe his family never took a trip out to Disneyland though. I thought most little kids got to go to Disneyland at least once in their lives. Disneyworld if you live on the east coast.
